Day 8: 50 Days of Prayer for the Persecuted Church : Iran

Today we pray for Iran. Some historic churches in Iran are protected but their people are treated as a lower class citizen. Other converts or those evangelizing do so with a daily fear of persecution.

For more information Open Doors USA has some details. They estimate just 800,000 Christians in the population of just over 80 million.

Please pray with me and add your prayers in the comments.

Father, we pray for Iran. Having never experiences this type of persecution first hand I pray Jesus that you will open my eyes and the eyes of the world to what is happening to Christians in Iran and other nations. I pray for the leaders of Iran, I ask that you would show them your love and bless them as they rule. Give them wisdom and understanding, mercy and compassion for those who need it most. For those believer in chains I pray for strength to keep sharing even where they are right now. I pray for release, so they can return to their families and share your love with them and their communities. Be with them God and reveal yourself as only you can. Amen
