Who is on your list of untouchables? Maybe not a physical list you would have on paper, but those people you think have no chance of ever accepting Jesus. Who would have ever thought Brian Welch of Korn fame or The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels or Michael “Bull” Roberts former career criminal would ever accept the gift of salvation given. There are many examples of those we see in the media and those we see in our daily walks who have gone through extreme 180 with their lives. If we dig deeper into their lives and we will find that somewhere someone was loving them, praying for them, never giving up on the hope that one day they would experience the love of Christ.
This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. (John 15:12 NLT)
Jesus loved us so much that He died for you. Can you honestly say you are willing to die for someone? Of course, you say, my parents, grandparents, Kids, family, best friends, but what about your enemy, your co-worker, the vagrant on the street corner, ISIS member, or that guy?
I am sure just reading this, you thought of someone who would be on the not really list. Jesus didn’t have a list of those He didn’t want to save. His gift of salvation bought by His blood extends to everyone.
We need to love like Christ, we need to have a heart for the ones that don’t have a relationship with Jesus, we need to step up and love those who otherwise would be unloved.
Dear Jesus, we need to stop judging the world and start loving it as You do. You see each person as a potential child of Christ. That none should perish. Help me to love the people of this world, not just the ones I am comfortable with, but all. Give me the passion and confidence to share Your love to those who need You, not only in deeds but with the truth as well. You love the world, every one, they matter to you so they should matter to me. Amen
