Day 41: All In
The resistance to the truth about Jesus love and God’s desire to have a relationship with his people is as strong as it has always been. Maybe the type of resistance has changed to one more of intellect then stubbornness, but none the less it is still prevalent. God’s plan for salvation was a fairly simple one, yet painful for him to experience. He endured it so that we as mankind would have the redemption and forgiveness to restore the relationship that was the original intent for our lives. God wants us to not only love him but to have an all in relationship with him.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.”
Romans 3:23-24 NLT
Isn’t it amazing to see that we are really no different than those around us who don’t know Jesus love? We make the same mistakes and live our lives day to day in the same world that they do. What we have is that we accepted the gift of salvation free given by the father thru the cross.
Seems so simple. So easy. Once you get it and understand it, it doesn’t make any sense why those who are wandering through life don’t. But it shouldn’t make us feel superior to those who have yet accepted Christ. We need to see those people as Jesus sees them. Lost, alone, hurting, dying and in need of Jesus saving grace. We should be burdened to tell them about him.
We are called to reach them, we are called to tell them about the grace that we have been given. Jesus says “I stand at the door and knock”, well he is knocking on every door of every person. Our job and mission is to let the people know who is on the other side so they will realize that it is safe to open the door to him. We can’t open the door for them, that would defeat the purpose of his plan.
I ask you again today, do people matter to you? Do the lost and hurting people you meet everyday matter to you? Have you been given grace? Why aren’t you sharing this grace to others? Because they matter to God the should matter to you. Because they are loved by God they should be loved by you. Don’t expect someone else to do the mission you were called to do. Part of an all in relationship with God is putting aside your fears and reaching out to those who need to meet him.
Jesus, I am asking you to keep opening my eyes and heart to the lost, I want to speak love and mercy to those around me. I want to daily reach others for you. You are coming back soon and I don’t want anyone to spend eternity in hell crying why didn’t he tell me about Jesus. Let me be a light to one around me, let me open my lips to speak the truth. Jesus you are what the people in this world need. Use me, even today. Amen
