How do you impact those around you who don’t think that their life is missing anything? What do you give to the person who has everything? There is nothing in our own strength that we can do to convince a person they need a savior. The Holy Spirit’s role is to impart on the hearts of unbelievers the need for a savior, convict them that what they are doing is sinful. We need to be open to be used by him in reaching them.
“For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days he has been revealed for your sake.”
1 Peter 1:18-20 NLT
Take some time today to thank God for the ransom paid so that you might live. If it wasn’t for Jesus sacrifice on the cross and resurrection all that we believe would be nothing. But I am so thankful that it means so much.
Pray today that Jesus will be revealed to your friends, family, coworkers and the random people you meet each day. I pray that the Holy Spirit will give you words and guidance to connect and share Christ’s love to them. I pray that we can share the hope we have in him.
Dear Jesus, I don’t want to hoard your salvation. Give me a passion to share it with others. I don’t want to be like the foolish worker who hid his coin, lest I be thrown out for not multiplying what you have given me. Open my lips and guide in me in the words needed to share your love. Amen
