Day 4: 50 Days of Change

“So because of your superior knowledge, a weak believer for whom Christ died will be destroyed. And when you sin against other believers by encouraging them to do something they believe is wrong, you are sinning against Christ.”‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭8:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We as a Church are all part of one body of believers. Some may come from other denominations who have different thoughts on scriptures and how to apply them to their lives. During the years some have taken the cause to point out these differences and make them ‘salvation’ points. This is unessecary, unless what they are doing is contradictory to what the bible teaches, it could be just interpative.

A example of this would be drinking, some will say that a drink will have not bearing on your salvation, others feel that the Christian believer must abstain. Either view does not make you more or less of a believer. Now if a group was acceptable of one getting drunk then there is a case of crossing biblical teachings.

We get tied up in so many things like dress code, worship styles, decorations, and ministries. We as believers need to change how we think about this.  We can’t be so concerned about what others are or are not doing. If a believer feels that movies are to be avoided or watching tv is wrong we wouldn’t push them to watch. It is their hear and relationship with God that is important.

Are you holding on to things that someone you love follows in a different denomination that you don’t agree with? Do those things oppose the bible or are they trivial and not worth the fight? Ask God to reveal this to you through scripture and show you.

Jesus, thank you fort the relationship we can have with you. Let us build each other believer up, not worrying about trivial things, but showing them love. Guide us in reading your word and embracing you and your mission. We want to be untitled with all believers not matter what denomination. Humanity is loved by you and we need to love humanity the same way. Amen
